Project 1 Project 1 A seaside garden at Winchelsea Beach. Here the client wanted a relaxed low maintenance garden in keeping with its surroundings and sheltered sitting areas out of the prevailing wind. Rustic wood and boulders were used and a sunken sitting area created with painted breeze blocks and stained railway sleepers. Planting adapted to salt laden windswept conditions echoed the very natural look of the garden. MORE >>

Project 2   Project 2   A terraced house near Arundel with a long narrow garden. The client wished to make the garden look larger and create an exotic feel. A circular motif was repeated down the garden in teguila block paving and gravel in order to divide the garden into separate areas. Bamboos, palms and large leaved plants such as fatsias and acanthus add to the jungly effect. MORE >>

Project 3   Project 3   A design centre in Nutfield. The emphasis of the centre was the promotion of modern craft, particularly textiles. I designed the paving for the small courtyard using Italian marble in a pattern reminiscent of Florentine flamework embroidery. Unusual water features including a slate cascade were another feature of this contemporary garden. MORE >>

A large country garden near Folkestone. The clients had retired from business in London and the existing garden was overgrown with ‘dotted’ conifers. They wished to spend time gardening and enjoying the rural surroundings. I designed a small pond with decking and a bog garden, a productive potager and colour themed borders as well as a meadow area and a larger wildlife pond. MORE >>
